Understanding dependant coverage in your Soda plan
If your plan includes dependant coverage for your spouse and children, they will be automatically linked to your account once your HR team adds them to the system. Here's everything you need to know about accessing and managing your dependants' healthcare benefits.
How to view your covered dependants
Your covered dependents will appear automatically in the Doctor Anywhere app once they've been added to your plan. Here's where to find them:
- Open the Doctor Anywhere app
- Navigate to More (bottom navigation menu)
- Select Profile
- Tap on Dependants
All dependents covered under your Soda plan will display with a green badge icon, indicating they have active coverage through your policy.
What if I can't see my dependants?
If your dependants don't appear in the app or lack the green badge icon, they may not be registered in the system yet. Here's what to do:
Contact your HR team and ask them to verify that your dependants have been added to the Soda HR portal. Only your company's HR administrator can add or update dependant information in the system - you cannot add covered dependants yourself through the app.
Using healthcare services for your dependants
Once your dependants are properly linked to your account, you can access all covered healthcare services on their behalf:
Virtual consultations for child dependants
When booking a virtual doctor consultation:
- Start the consultation booking process
- Look for the question "Who is seeing a doctor?"
- Select your dependent from the list
- Complete the booking as usual
The consultation will be conducted for your selected dependent, and all information will be tagged with their name in your account history.
Submitting claims for dependants
You can also submit claims on behalf of your covered dependants. When submitting a claim:
- Select the dependant the claim is for
- Upload the required documentation
- Submit the claim as you would for yourself
All submitted claims will be recorded in your history with your dependant's name tag for easy tracking.
Tracking dependant healthcare activity
All healthcare activities for your dependents are organized within your account:
- Activity: Consultation history: View all past virtual consultations with your dependant's name clearly tagged
- Claim submissions: Track all insurance claims filed for each dependant
- Medical records: Access relevant healthcare information for each family member
This centralized system makes it easy to manage healthcare for your entire family from one account while maintaining clear records for each person.
How spouse dependents access their coverage
Spouse dependents have their own independent access to the Doctor Anywhere app and don't need to use your account. Here's how it works:
Your spouse can create their own Doctor Anywhere account by:
- Downloading the Doctor Anywhere app
- Signing up or logging in using the same email address provided to your HR team
- This email must match exactly what was uploaded in the Soda HR portal
Once logged in with the correct email, your spouse will have full access to their covered benefits under your Soda plan and can:
- Book their own virtual consultations
- Submit their own insurance claims
- Manage their own medical records and history
- Access all healthcare services independently
